USNS Brunswick Sails Away from Austal USA

Mobile, Ala. – The USNS Brunswick (T-EPF 6) sailed away from Austal’s ship manufacturing facility here today following her post-delivery availability. The 338-ft Expeditionary Fast Transport vessel (EPF), delivered to the Navy in January, became the nation’s sixth EPF to enter the Navy’s fleet.

“The ship’s sail away is a significant milestone for Austal in the construction and delivery of the ship,” said Austal USA President Craig Perciavalle. “As we’ve seen with the first five EPFs, the Brunswick is sure to be doing great things and helping people all around the world in the very near future.”

Having already logged over 100,000 nautical miles in over three years since delivery, the USNS Spearhead (T-EPF 1) has been around the globe and is currently deployed supporting Africa Partnership Station, an international collaborative capacity-building program.

USNS Choctaw County (T-EPF 2) recently joined 5th Fleet supporting operations in the Middle East.

USNS Carson City (T-EPF 7), Yuma (T-EPF 8) and Bismarck (T-EPF 9) are all under construction at Austal’s Mobile, Ala. manufacturing facility. Austal is slated to build 12 Expeditionary Fast Transport vessels for the U.S. Navy.
